Daily Itinerary

THURSDAY

Arrival at Camp Glazer's

Check in any time after 3:00 PM and settle into camp. As the sun goes down, join our ambassadors along the river for hands-on astrophotography instruction covering everything you need to feel confident once we head into the park. Already comfortable with your camera? Stick around for light painting, composite tent shots, and other after-dark techniques to round out your toolkit. *Image by Fujifilm Ambassador, Mio Monasch*

FRIDAY

Gifford-Pinchot National Forest

Start slow with a morning yoga session before hitting the trails. The afternoon takes us into Gifford Pinchot National Forest containing waterfalls, creek-side paths, and dense old-growth canopy. As evening comes on, we make our way to Mt. St. Helens to photograph the stars over the crater rim. A mix of low-and high-activity outings are available throughout the day. *Image by Sigma Ambassador, Jack Fusco*

SATURDAY

Mt. Rainier National Park

Wake up at your own pace — take a float on the Cowlitz River, browse our loaner gear from brand partners, or head straight for Mt. Rainier National Park. Wildflower meadows are in full bloom against the backdrop of one of the most iconic peaks in the country. After sunset, choose your adventure: the Sunrise corridor for a shot at the Milky Way over Rainier, or the Paradise corridor for prime Perseid Meteor Shower viewing. Low-and high-activity options available. *Image by Sony Ambassador, Scott Kranz*

Programming

Will food be provided?

No food will not be provided at the campgrounds. There is however a grocery store and a few restaurants only minutes away from the campsite.

Attendees are responsible for their own meals, snacks, and beverages throughout the weekend.

Will there be cell service?

There are two cell towers within a mile of the camp areas. There is great service for almost all carriers. Many of the places we will be going to shoot will not have service though so please plan accordingly. We encourage attendees to download maps and important information before arriving.

Are campfires allowed?

Campfire regulations are determined by local land management agencies and current fire conditions. We will communicate campfire guidelines prior to the event. If campfires are permitted, attendees must follow all posted restrictions and safety requirements. Most likely a burn ban will be in place and only propane stoves will be allowed.

Will I have access to electricity?

Electricity will not be available at the campground, so we strongly recommend bringing portable power banks for your devices and cameras.

Are there restrooms on-site?

There will be port-a-potties on-site to use as a restroom.

Are there shower's on-site?

No, there will not be showers available on-site.

What is included with my registration?

Your registration includes access to Star Party Campout activities throughout the weekend, including educational sessions, guided photography experiences, presentations from our ambassadors and brand partners, community campsite gatherings, and unforgettable night sky photography opportunities.

Please note that participation in hikes and outings within national and state parks requires advance registration which will be released for pre-registration in July. Due to permit restrictions and group size limitations at these locations, space may be limited for certain activities.

Does my ticket include a campsite?

Yes. Each ticket purchased includes one campsite space within our designated Star Party Campout area. Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis at ticketing, which starts on June 8, 2026 at noon pst.

Can I bring a friend, spouse, or family member?

Yes, but every attendee MUST have a valid registration. Space is limited to 2 people per campsite. If you are bringing someone who will not participate in any activities, but just wants to camp and hang, please reach out to us at marketing@glazerscamera.com. Registration also helps us manage campsite and program capacity as we have permits outside the campground that limit the number of people per activity.

What should I bring?

We recommend bringing:

  • Tent and camping gear
  • Warm layers for nighttime temperatures
  • Camera, lenses, batteries, and memory cards
  • Headlamp or flashlight (preferably with a red-light mode)
  • Camping chair
  • Water bottle and personal supplies
  • Food and beverages for the weekend

A detailed packing list will be provided closer to the event.

Will there be daytime activities?

Yes! While the stars are the main attraction, we'll also offer optional daytime activities including hikes, sunrise outings, educational sessions, gear demonstrations, and opportunities to connect with fellow photographers.

Can I arrive late?

Yes. We understand travel schedules vary. Detailed check-in information and arrival windows will be provided before the event.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are generally welcome at the campground; however, they must remain under control and follow all campground regulations. Dogs need to be leashed if there is any chance they will run up to passerby. Please be considerate of fellow campers and nighttime photography activities.

What happens if the weather is poor?

Weather is always part of outdoor photography. The event will take place rain or shine. Even if sky conditions are not ideal, we'll continue with educational programs, presentations, community activities, and photography opportunities whenever possible.

Can I charge camera batteries and electronic devices at camp?

Limited charging opportunities may be available, but we strongly recommend bringing fully charged batteries, extras, power banks, or portable power stations to ensure you're ready for multiple nights of shooting.

Can I participate in the daytime activities and river float?

Absolutely. The Star Party Campout experience extends well beyond the nighttime photography sessions. Optional daytime hikes, sunrise outings, educational programs, community activities, and river floating opportunities are all part of the weekend experience.

Can multiple people share a campsite?

Yes. Campsites may be shared by registered attendees. However, every person attending the event must have their own registration regardless of campsite sharing arrangements.

What are nighttime temperatures like?

Even during the summer, nighttime temperatures can drop significantly. We recommend bringing warm layers, insulated outerwear, and a sleeping setup rated for cooler overnight conditions.

Is there a quiet-hours policy?

Yes. To respect fellow campers and those photographing late into the night, we ask attendees to be be mindful of their noise level. Noise and music shouldn't be able to be heard by neigboring campers.

Can I bring a telescope or star tracker?

Definitely. Telescopes, star trackers, binoculars, and other astronomy equipment are welcome. Many attendees enjoy sharing their setups and knowledge with fellow campers.

Can I get a refund?

This is a rain or shine event barring cases of extreme weather. Refunds will not be granted on the grounds of a changing forecast. We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel the event in cases of extreme weather.

If you become no longer able to attend, cancellations made at least 14 days before the event will receive a full refund.

Refund requests received before the published cancellation deadline will be honored. After that date, registrations become non-refundable. Please review the event registration page for complete refund details.

Can I attend if I don't want to camp overnight?

Yes. While most attendees choose to camp on-site, you are welcome to arrange your own lodging and participate in event activities during the day and evening. Please note that many of the signature experiences take place after dark and before sunrise.

I've never camped before. Is this event for me?

Yes! Many attendees join us with little or no camping experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and community-oriented, and our team is happy to help answer questions before and during the event. If you've been looking for a reason to try camping, this is a great place to start.

Do I need photography experience to attend?

Not at all. Star Party Campout is designed for photographers of all skill levels—from complete beginners to experienced night sky photographers. Our instructors and ambassadors will offer guidance throughout the weekend.

Is there a limit on the number of attendees?

Yes. Attendance is intentionally limited to maintain a comfortable campground experience and ensure meaningful access to educators, ambassadors, activities, and gear demonstrations. We recommend registering early, as the event has sold out in the past.

When can I sign up for individual programs?

A registration page for programming will be sent in July to give all attendees a fair chance of signing up for some of our capacity constrained outings. We will announce when this page will be going live to ticket holders in advance. The capacity constrained programs will be first come first served for registration. Advanced registration will be required for these programs.

Do I need specialized astrophotography equipment?

No. While dedicated astrophotography gear can be helpful, many attendees create amazing images with standard cameras and lenses. You'll also have opportunities to learn from brand representatives and try select loaner gear during the event.

Will camera and lens loaners be available?

Many of our brand partners will offer demo gear and loaner equipment throughout the weekend. Availability varies by brand and is not guaranteed, so we recommend bringing your own camera equipment if possible.

Will there be photography instruction throughout the weekend?

Yes. In addition to scheduled presentations and demonstrations, our ambassadors, educators, and brand partners will be available throughout the weekend to share tips, techniques, and guidance in the field.

Will there be opportunities to photograph more than just the stars?

Yes. The surrounding area offers beautiful landscapes, forests, rivers, mountain views, and wildlife. In addition to astrophotography, there will be opportunities for landscape, nature, adventure, and sunrise photography throughout the weekend.
